It is mandatory for the candidate to appear in both the papers of Civil Services (Prelim) examination. The candidate will be disqualified in case he or she appears in only one paper of the (Prelims) exam. So appearing in both the papers is mandatory for the evaluation of the (Prelims) exam.

The UPSC Prelims exam is meant to serve as a screening test only. The marks of Paper-I are alone considered for making the merit list for this exam. Only those candidates who have qualified the Prelims can write the Mains exam. The marks scored in the Prelim exam is not counted in the final tally of the Mains exam or the Interview.

The number of candidates who qualify the Prelims Exam is about twelve to thirteen times of the total of the approximate number of vacancies that has to be filled in that year in the various Services and Posts.

It is mandatory for the candidate to appear in both the papers of Prelim exam to be qualified for the evaluation purposes. The candidate will be disqualified in case he or she appears in only one paper of the Prelims exam.

Negative Marking:

There is "Negative Marking" in the Prelims exam. For every wrong answer, 1/3rd of marks allotted for every question will be reduced from the correct tally of score.

INTERVIEW

….Where only the best UPSC/MPSC students of Mumbai compete and study
….. on the lines of SUPER 30 of BIHAR

Hello UPSC and MPSC Aspirants

We all have joined or completed UPSC /MPSC course at some or the other Institute. Few of them might have completed the course even at Delhi. But the real problem is still after all this, we hardly have any idea of where are we progressing in our preparation. That is the reason that DRONACHARYA has come up with this unique idea of DCP BATCH.

First thing to know about DCP BATCH is that this is no marketing gimmick from the Institute. The sole and sincere idea is to bring together the most serious students across Mumbai together by this TEST and give them hardcore training(not basic level guidance but guidance and mentoring that a 2nd or 3rd attempter deserves) with best guidance and well planned out time table as a study plan.

Most of the students would agree that when we start the preparation we have lots of enthusiasm but little know how of how to Prepare for UPSC/MPSC. Later when a year or two passes, we know everything what needs to be done, but it becomes difficult to persist with same energy as there are no group of friends or classes anymore (which certainly help in accountability). Everyone of us just needs a quality MENTOR who can set periodic targets (which are quality targets according quality of preparation of 2nd and 3rd attempter), evaluate us periodically and highlight our shortcomings before the exam.

THIS is where DCP batch will comes into picture. It will operate in following terms.

  1. ENTERANCE EXAM WILL BE CONDUCTED FOR THE BATCH. It will be an MCQ PAPER and the questions will be really tough. Even tougher than what comes in UPSC/MPSC exam. The idea here is to take in only those students who are damn serious. We would preferably have only those students who have given 1-2 attempts or have given Mains atleast once. But if any fresher or any other students who can prove his metal by clearing the exam is most welcome. But if you cant, then don’t get dejected as this exam is not meant for freshers.
  2. Once selected, the candidate will have to sign a TERMS and CONDITIONS document which will lay down his promise to maintain a strict discipline and follow all homeworks and other targets given to him. All the Professors will be in direct touch with these students and will make a direct schedule for these students. Student will have to follow the guidelines and directions given to them very strictly. He will have access to all the Professors all time of the day for any query. Even those with the job can aim for this because the sole aim is to maintain a strict discipline and plan well and execute the plan with utmost efficiency.
  3. If a person fails to achieve the mutually agreed targets or fails to work upon the mutually agreed plan, then he will be eliminated from the BATCH and can enter again only after giving the next DCP ENTERANCE EXAM which will be held every quarter.
  4. This batch will go on right till the UPSC interview. i.e almost 1.5 years.
  5. The batch will be of 21 students only. But we will make sure that these are the 21 best students of Mumbai. We will then undertake all our efforts to make them train for this exam. TOP 2 students will be rewarded by allowing them to sit without any payment of fees.(FREE ADMISSIONS). The cutoff for the exam will be 50 % with one third negative marking. We thereby don’t expect many students to clear the exam. Even if those top 2 students clear the exam, we will begin of with the batch. Plz inform all your serious friends so that quality of competition can be real high.
